RULES FOR THE USE OF LOCAL 808 UNION HALL

                                        RULES FOR THE USE OF LOCAL 808 UNION HALL

1.  Any Local 808 Union Member who wishes to use the 808 Union Hall shall be required to :                     


(a) Sign a form stating he will use the Union hall for his own private, immediate-family function, such as family reunions, wedding receptions or anniversaries for himself, father, mother, son, daughter, sister or brother.  (Nieces, nephews, grandchildren or grandparents are NOT considered as immediate family under these rules.)  The Hall may also be rented for class reunions of which the 808 member or spouse is a member of the class.  The 808 member shall be held directly responsible for any loss, breakage or damage in or to the Union Hall during the function or activity and he or she must be in attendance during the entire  function.                                                                                                                              

(b) Make proper money deposit of two hundred dollars ($200.00) in person within 48 hours after reservation is made for use of the Hall with the Local 808 secretary.  No reservations will be confirmed until the deposit is made and the proper form is completed.

Cancellations must be made more than 30 days prior to using the Hall to obtain full refund of the deposit.  Cancellations made 30 days or less prior to using the Hall, $50.00 will be retained of  the deposit unless the cancellation was due to an emergency or if the Hall can be rented for that same day.

2.  The 808 member will clean the Union Hall after the function or activity.  If, upon approval of a Local 808 trustee or officer, the Union Hall has been properly cleaned and there has been no loss, breakage or damage in or to the Union Hall, he shall be refunded the $200.00 deposit.  The charge for using the building, to be paid at this time is $125.00.  This $125.00 will be retained by Local 808 to help defray the cost of building maintenance and utilities.

Should there be any loss, breakage or damage in or to the Union Hall or property during the member´s function or activity, the Local 808 trustees will get an estimate of the amount required to repair the breakage or damage.  This amount will be deducted from the initial deposit.  Should the amount required to repair the loss, breakage or damage to the Union Hall exceed $200.00, the member signed for the Union Hall shall be held responsible and pay any amount exceeding $200.00.  Subject to Rule #7.

3. The 808 member who has signed for the use of the Union Hall shall be responsible for closing and locking up the Union Hall after the function is over.  No function shall exceed 6 hours.  All persons shall be cleared from the Union Hall within this six hour period, not to exceed 1:00 a.m.                                      

4.  Sister Local Unions may use the Union Hall for union business without charge providing, however, they clean the Union Hall thoroughly after each meeting.

5.  NO MEMBER OR SISTER LOCAL UNION SHALL USE THIS UNION HALL AS A FINANCIAL VENTURE.  NEITHER MAY HE CHARGE ANY ADMISSION FEES, CHARGES, OR DONATIONS TO DEFRAY EXPENSES OF THE FUNCTION HE USES THE UNION HALL FOR.

6.  It is understood that all functions of Local 808 have precedence over any member´s use of this Union hall and that any use of the Union hall will in no way interfere with the duties of the Union officials of Local 808.

7.  Anyone violating these rules concerning the use of the Local 808 Union hall shall be subject to be called before the Local 808 Executive Board for violation of goods, and all deposits shall be withheld pending action by the Executive Board.

8.  If in the case the member is either the bride or groom, another Local 808 member can co-sign for the responsibility as called out under all above rules.
