Introduction to

Keyboarding
 

Ivy Tech Community College will offer FREE Training to dislocated workers

during the 2010 summer semester. Classes will be offered as follows:

Topics include the use of the computer keyboard, touch-typing skills, manual dexterity, and speed

development. A textbook will be provided at no charge to you.

Start Date:      Attend classes on both Mondays and Wednesdays beginning Mon., July 12, 2010
                                  9:00 a.m. to 10:50 a.m.
                                  1:00 p.m. to 2:50 p.m.

End Date for Classes:

Ivy Tech Community College will be offering free training to Dislocated Workers during the 2010 summer semester.  Classes will begin the week of June 7, 2010, and will be held at 9 a.m., 1 p.m., and 5 p.m. 

CLASSES OFFERED INCLUDE:   


Courses
Course Descriptions
Introduction to Keyboarding
 
Introduces the use of the keyboard, touch-typing skills, manual dexterity, and speed development.
IVYT 120 New Student Seminar
 
Topics include time management, media literacy, learning styles, study skills, career planning, and
money management.
Basic Math Review
 
Reviews basic operations with fractions, decimals, percents, measurement, ratio, and proportion.
Basic English Review
 
Review of general writing skills (grammar, style,
and mechanics).

 If you are interested in this FREE Training, please follow the steps below:

    1.      Attend an Information Session on May 26, 2010 (details listed above)
2.      Complete an Application for Admission to Ivy Tech Community College

    3.      Complete the Ivy Tech COMPASS Assessment test.

    4.      Sign up to attend the summer classes at Ivy Tech

Dislocated Workers Skills Summit
A morning when you will have the opportunity to meet with companies who will share information on the range of skills that are needed to apply to their company. You will also be able to interact one-on-one and ask questions of faculty representatives from various colleges and universities. Admission requirements will also be shared with you.
The Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corporation and various local social service agencies will also be on hand.
