ARTICLE XXVIII - STRIKE PROCEDURE

(a) The Local shall send to the President of the International Union a copy of any notice to an employer terminating or modifying a collective bargaining agreement. The Local shall, whenever a strike is contemplated, notify the International President of the impending strike in sufficient time to afford the International President or his or her designated representative an opportunity to adjust the dispute. No strike shall be called without the prior authorization of the International President or his or her designee.

(b) No strike may be called without the approval by a majority of the members present at any membership meeting. Notice of a meeting for that purpose must be posted on bulletin boards at least 2 days prior to said meeting.

(c) It shall be the duty of the Local President to name such committees that will be necessary, one month in advance.

(d) Before any strike action, the Local Membership shall determine by a majority vote, by secret ballot vote, of its members present, whether strike action shall be taken against the Company. Such action must be in compliance with the Local, District and International Constitutions.
