ARTICLE XXXVI - SKILLED TRADES CHAIRPERSON

(a) The Skilled Trades Chairperson shall preside over all Skilled Trades meetings but shall have no vote except in the case of a tie.

(b) He or she shall at all times be responsible to the Executive Board and the Shop Chairperson.

(c) The Skilled Trades Chairperson shall upon request assist the District Steward in the settlement of any dispute or grievance.

(d) He or she shall be responsible for handling and judging the merit of all grievances in the first step and submitting those grievances not settled to the Grievance Committee if he or she judges the grievance to merit second step action.

(e) He or she shall be responsible for supplying any necessary information in writing in regard to a grievance´s first step action when a grievance is placed in the second step on a form approved by the Shop Chairperson.

(f) The Skilled Trades Chairperson shall be required to attend at least two out of every three Stewards Council meetings, unless excused. Failure to do so will be considered as a resignation from office. Temporary replacement will be made by the Shop Chairperson.
